2023 Scholarship Winner - Sydney Dickerson

The winner of the 2023 Hopkins County Fair $500 Scholarship is Sydney Dickerson. She was also selected to receive one of three $1,500 scholarships given at the Kentucky Association of Fairs and Horse Shows. Sydney has been a volunteer in the Home and Garden building for many years, working with the 4-H Department. She has also been involved in showing goats at our county fair, as well as the Pennyrile District Show, sponsored by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture.

Sydney has been an active member of our youth fair board working in many areas of the fair, from entering items in the home and garden building to cleaning the livestock barn in preparation for the shows. Sydney says “Being a show kid at the fair has given me many new friends and opportunities. Working at the fair as a member of the youth fair board has allowed me to meet many people in our community and given me so many opportunities that I would not have had if not for being a part of the youth board.”
