Farmer's Market Appreciation Day at Hopkins County Fair Grounds Farmer's Market. Regularly open on Wed, 12-4pm and Sat. 8am-12 We had 10 vendors selling everything from fresh melons and tomatoes to value added products such as fried apple pies and fresh salsa. In addition, one vendor specializes in herbs.
We added several booths to include three local chefs who prepared dishes using healthy vegetables and offered samples to attendees. The Balloon Guy, Daniel Herron, was available to tie balloons. The Pennyroyal Master Gardeners set up to answer questions about home gardening and landscapes.
The last two booths included 4-H and Extension who also had free lemonade and food samples of some favorite Ky Proud recipes.
Overall the event brought in over 550 attendees.
